Marvel‘s latest project is upon us! Secret Invasion is the MCU’s newest series and most anticipated TV Marvel show of summer 2023. Unlike most series released on streaming services, Secret Invasion will only be released one episode per week for six consecutive weeks. This way of releasing episodes gives audiences a chance to digest each episode and discuss it online with friends, which also increases the exposure of the show, so win-win!

Secret Invasion follows Nick Fury, the former director of Shield, as he investigates the possibility of a secret faction of Skrulls invading Earth. Aided by his friends and allies, Fury will fight a secret war to save Earth. The show stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Emilia Clarke as G’iah, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross and Olivia Coleman as Sonya Falsworth.

Release date: 22 June 2023

Where to watch: Max

Are you a fan of Sex and the City? Then And Just Like That… is the series you’re looking for this summer! The second season of the sequel to one of the 2000s most popular movies has just been released on Max (In case you’re wondering what Max is, it is the new name for HBO Max). The series brings back the familiar faces of Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis, as well as an ensemble of new and old faces.

And Just Like That… follows Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate friendships, relationships, jobs and life in their 50s. Even though many people were a bit disappointed by the first season, calling it dull, annoying and relying a little too much on nostalgia, Max has renewed the series for a second season and is giving it another try. If you’re a fan of romantic comedies and on-screen female friendships, then maybe And Just Like That… is one of the most anticipated TV shows for you!

The Bear

Release date: 22 June 2023

Where to watch: Hulu/FX

If you are addicted to shows and movies about restaurants and chefs like me, then The Bear is the show of the summer for you! The Bear was arguably the most popular show of summer 2022 and one of the most anticipated Tv shows that are coming back strong to retake the title this summer. Take a fine dining chef, put him in a stressful situation running a back alley sandwich shop and see the magic happen on screen.

The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, started its journey in season one by telling the story of a young chef, Carmey Berzatto, who moves from working in a fine dining restaurant to running his deceased brother’s sandwich shop in Chicago. Faced with the challenge of a new environment, a new life and changed dreams, The Bear resonated with lots of viewers last year and is one of the most anticipated TV shows of this summer.

The Witcher

Release date: 28 June 2023

Where to watch: Netflix

Everyone is excited but also dreading the upcoming season of The Witcher. Since Henry Cavil announced last year that this season would be his final time playing Geralt of Rivia, fans of the show have been really conflicted about how to feel about season 3, but this is a problem for the future. Today should just look forward to the upcoming season -which is split into two parts-, hope for the best and cheer on the excellent cast.

The Witcher season 3 will pick up where Season 2 left off with Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer starting their new life. With war waging in the Conteninat and Ciri being at the centre of it, all Geralt wants is to protect her and the little family they finally have. However, neutrality has consequences, and the crew cannot stay away from the mess around them. Whether you’re a fan of the books and games or not, The Witcher is really a series you do not want to miss!

The After Party

Release date: 12 July 2023

Where to watch: Apple TV+

For murder mystery lovers, Apple’s most anticipated TV show, The After Party, is coming back for a second season! The show was one of the funniest and most fun series of last year, combining mystery and comedy in this one-of-a-kind anthology series. The first season, released on January 2022, told the story of a high school reunion turned murder scene where everyone is a suspect. Each episode retells the vents from one of the characters’ perspectives until the murderer is revealed.

The After Party was a hit for Apple TV+ that they immediately greenlit the show for a second season two months after its release. Now season two is upon us with some of the original cast plus some new faces for the new murder, this time taking place at a wedding. Tiffany Haddish is back as Detective Danner as well as Zoë Chao and Sam Richardson. New faces include Elizabeth Perkins, Paul Walter Hauser, Jack Whitehall and more.

What We Do in the Shadows

Release date: 13 July 2023

Where to watch: FX

Jemaine Clement’s What We Do in the Shadows is coming back for a fifth season this summer. The comedy-horror mockumentary has been a hit since its first season and only seems to get better as the seasons go by! The story follows four vampires who have been living on Staten Island for centuries and how they interact with the world around them as well as with other supernatural beings.

Season four left off with Baby Colin returning to his adult body and forgetting all about his memories as the adorable and sweet baby, Guillermo finally putting his plan into action to find someone to turn him into a vampire as he always wanted, and Nadja conflicted about what to do with her club. We can’t wait for the new season of this most anticipated TV show because What We Do in the Shadows just never disappoints!

Minx

Release date: 21 July 2023

Where to watch: Starz

The charming and hilarious Minx has found a new home for its second season at Starz. When HBO Max became Max, many shows got the axe, and unfortunately, none of these shows was Ellen Rapoport’s Minx. But luckily for us and the hardworking cast, who was already almost done with filming season two, Starz swopped in and provided a home for the charming show.

Minx follows feminist Joyce played by Ophelia Lovibond, and photographer Glenn played by Micheal Angarano, as they start the first erotic magazine for women in the 70s. The show is a charming mix of comedy and drama with exceptional 70s aesthetics, and that’s why it made our list of the most anticipated TV shows. Other cast members include New Girl’s Jake Johnson, Wrecked’s Jessica Lowe, Oscar Montoya and Lennon Parham.

The past two seasons of Reservation Dogs had great reviews from critics and won a Peabody and two Ideentant Spirit Awards, as well as being nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

Reservation Dogs follows a group of four indigenous teenagers living in Oklahoma. After the death of one of their friends, the group has to face their grief as well as try to make their friend’s last wish come true for them all to move to California. The second season had the group finally make a move, but it’s not all roses as they pictured. The series stars Devery Jacobs, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Lane Factor and Paulina Alexis.
