Every few years, Netflix releases a show that takes the world by storm. From Stranger Things to Squid Game to Wednesday, a show would be released out of nowhere, and the world would be different from what it used to be. In 2020, the world was already going through so much change, and we couldn’t see a silver lining. Then, in December, with everyone stuck at their homes, Netflix dropped a bomb: Season 1 of Bridgerton was released, and we were never the same again!

And when we thought nothing could be better (or sexier) than the story of The Duke and Daphne, Netflix released season 2 in 2022 and introduced us to Anthony and Kate and their fiery love story. By now, we know better than to judge Bridgerton characters out of their seasons, and we will wait patiently for each sibling’s story to watch them shine.

Which Bridgerton Character Are You?

Now for the critical question: out of all these fascinating characters, which one do you think is the most like you? We wanted to take a semi-scientific approach to this question (because it’s SUPER important!), so we’re approaching it using the MBTI personality test.

We will analyse each Brigerton character, give them an MBTI personality type and then you can see which character you are most like using their and your MBTI type. If you don’t know your MBTI type, no worries! You can take the test and then come back!

Brigerton Characters and Their MBTI Types

We couldn’t ask the Brigerton characters to take the MBTI personality test. However, we did some research (aka watched the show multiple times) and tried to assign each character to a personality type based on their actions through the first two seasons. If you disagree with the MBTI type some of these characters are assigned, don’t come for us; we did our best! Just do your best to choose the character you relate to most; remember, this is all fun and games!

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Violet Bridgerton (ESFJ)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcEv_DZrxwM

Violet Bridgerton is the matriarch of the Bridgerton family. Since her husband’s death, she has been the one to hold this family together and provide a loving, supportive home for all her children. Despite her initial all-consuming grief after the death of her husband, Violet was able to pick herself up, dust herself off and become the loving mother her children needed. She understands all her children’s needs and personalities and treats them accordingly. Besides being a wonderful mother, Violet is also a great friend to Lady Danbury, who is always there to listen and offer advice.

ESFJ personality type stands for Extraverted, Observant, Feeling, and Judging. People with this personality type are caring, loving and great family people. They look out for the ones they love and offer encouragement and positive energy to whoever needs it. Their biggest challenge is to accept that they can’t control everything around them, and not everybody will accept their help.

Anthony Bridgerton (ESTJ)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4371WTy6SI

The eldest of Bridgerton siblings, Anthony’s personality is very close to his mother’s; however, he values mind over heart. Since his father’s sudden death right before him, Anthony has taken the role of Lord Bridgerton. His mother’s all-consuming grief after his father’s death left Anthony responsible for caring for their household, affairs, and his younger siblings. He has a strong feeling of responsibility and feels that if he lets himself crumble or feel, everything around him will turn to dust.

ESTJ personality type stands for Extraverted, Observant, Thinking, and Judging. People with this personality type value order tradition. They like to have a system in place for everything in their life and do not like it when things change for better or worse. They are great leaders during difficult times and can act with a clear head no matter their situation. It can be challenging for them to connect emotionally with others, but not impossible.

Daphne Bridgerton (ESFJ)

The eldest of the Bridgerton daughters, Daphne exhibits a lot of her mother’s personality, which is very common with eldest daughters. She was very young when her father died and was shielded from grief by her mother and brother. By the time she was a young lady, her mother was over her grief and ready to be Lady Bridgerton. Daphne learned from her mother to be nurturing and caring for people around her. She is also very emotionally stable and mature compared to her siblings. She knows right from wrong and has a great sense of duty.

ESFJs are caring and build relationships that last. They are also very observant of the feelings of others around them and how they are perceived in their community. They can spend a lot of their energy on empathy as they cannot help but think about the feelings of others and how it affects everyone around them. It can be challenging for them to stop and think about what they want compared to everyone else.

Benedict Bridgerton (ISFP)

Benedict is the stark opposite of his older brother Anthony, a free spirit. From the beginning, we see Benedict as an artist, passionate about what he loves. Not really the super responsible type, Benedict only takes a little responsibility around the house or with his younger siblings. He is an artist who paints, writes poetry, and just lives life one day at a time. Since Benedict’s season isn’t here, we don’t know much about how he approaches romantic relationships except that he is someone who loves love.

ISFP personality type stands for Introverted, Observant, Feeling, and Prospecting. This type is called The Adventurer because they like to experience new, unexpected things every day. They do not like structure and rules and would leave space for the unexpected because that is when their life gets exciting. They are introverted, though, which means they would rather do all of this alone and can find it hard to be part of collectives or communities.

Colin Bridgeton (ENFP)

The youngest Bridgerton brother is a kix of both his older brothers’ characters. He is carefree and longs for adventure but is also aware of the people around him and their needs. Colin shows great empathy and responsibility when he asks to marry Marina. He truly loved her, but part of that was him feeling bad for her situation, even though it was not his fault. Colin seeks connections with others but is blind to the one connection that has always sought him.

ENFP personality type stands for Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting. These personality types always approach life with an open heart and mind. They see everyone around them and want to make life beautiful for all. They’re imaginative but can get lost in imagining what life could be instead of seeing what’s right in front of them.

Eloise Bridgerton (ENTP)

The rule breaker. Eloise Brigerton does not know how to go with the flow or follow in anyone’s footsteps. She questions everything around her, especially the way her community treats women. She hates that marriage seems to be the end-all goal for every woman around her and doesn’t see how it can help her achieve what she wants. Eloise spends a lot of her time talking about what she dislikes and what she thinks should change but rarely acts on her ideas.

ENTP personality type stands for Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Prospecting. This type loves to debate and pick apart every argument they can get their hands on. They do not know how to accept things as they are or to leave things be. They find great pleasure in breaking the norm and analysing everything around them. This personality type can have difficulty building relationships as no one likes to be interpreted or debated all the time.

Penelope Featherington (INFJ)

Our very own Lady Wistledown, Penelope Featherington, might be introverted and quiet, but she is not one to be taken lightly. Penelope is the youngest sister in her family and, therefore, the most ignored, especially having such loud sisters and a mother. Her only meaningful relationship in the series is with Eloise, and she cherishes her friendship deeply. Penelope is very observant but imaginative and uses her Lady Whistledown papers to let her imagination fly. She is judgemental of others around her, but she also cares and wants to do what is right according to her beliefs.

INFJ personality type stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging. People with this personality type have a great sense of right and wrong. They are caring and thoughtful, but their judgemental side makes them more inclined to their own thoughts and judgments. Being such a rare personality type, INFJs may feel lonely and misunderstood most of the time. Always thinking of others, they will also be significantly disappointed if they don’t receive the same amount of care and love they give.

Simon Bassett (ISTP)

The Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett, is very set in his beliefs. Known as the rake of London, Simon appears to be a playful heartthrob who just likes to have a good time. In some ways, he is, but this light appearance he brings forward hides a traumatic childhood that followed him all the way to adulthood. Simon likes a project, and that is what he sees in Daphne when they first meet. Simon guides Daphne into understanding herself and getting what she wants while trying to keep her at arm’s length at the same time.

ISTP personality type stands for Introverted, Observant, Thinking, and Prospecting. These people have an excellent eye for others’ feelings and wants. They see everything around them as a project they can make better and act accordingly. Even though this comes from a good heart, it can sometimes get out of hand. ISTPs are always good at what they do but sometimes might step over the line without even noticing.

Kate Sharma (INTJ)

Ever the older sister, Kate is protective and would do anything to make sure her sister is happy. She is very calculative and an efficient planner. She guides her sister through the London marriage market and the community they are both new in smoothly. For Kate, as long as things go according to her plan, everything will be alright. For Kate, life is a game that she must win, often forgetting to look around her to see how her plan affects the people she loves or even herself.

INTJ personality type stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging. These personality types can sometimes be a bit one-minded. They are making plans and doing everything they can to see them through. However, everything they do stems from a caring and loving heart. They are rational and would instead act on their minds rather than their feelings. INTJs might have a hard time finding love as they do not tend to mould their personality to others and would only accept someone if that person understands them and where they come from.

Edwina Sharma (ISFJ)

The Diamond of the season (at least the 2nd season), Edwina is the perfect daughter and sister. She floats around like a true angel, giving smiles and pleasantries to everyone around her. She knows how to play the game but is also lovely and feels deeply for others. Edwina lets Kate control her life out of love and respect for her sister. She trusts her sister deeply even when she doesn’t know all the details. However, when she finds something she wants, she goes for it and doesn’t hold back.

ISTJ personality type stands for Introverted, Observant, Feeling, and Judging. These types might be underestimated at times because of their quiet and devoted nature. However, it must be noted that their love and care are given for a reason and can be taken away if they feel like the person doesn’t deserve it. ISTJ hold themselves and others to an impossibly high standard and expect everything to be perfect. Despite being introverted, they know how to work a room and how to make everyone love them.

Lady Danbury (ENTJ)

The one who gets things done. Whether as a young woman or as an older woman, Lady Danbury is always a leader who takes charge and points people in the right direction. As a young woman, she was on the Queen’s side, guiding her into filling her role and understanding the essential parts of it. She also made sure that her family kept their titles in a time when people like her did not get titles. Lady Danbury acted as Simon, Kate, and Edwina’s mentor. She helped them better understand themselves and achieve their goals.

ENTJ personality type stands for Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging. People with this personality type are natural-born leaders. They are confident and know how to get their plans to succeed. They’re not ones to give up quickly or go with the flow. They are witty and hard workers and are always up for a challenge, and they can sometimes be a bit insensitive towards others’ failures as they always expect too much.

So, which Bridgerton character do you think is the one most like you? The show has a variety of exciting characters that significantly differ from each other. So, if none of these chargers seems to be close to you, don’t worry at all! More characters will be introduced in future seasons, and we will make sure to add them here. So give it a year and come back to check if there is someone who is your match!
