The Ritual

The Ritual is a British horror movie about four friends who go on a hiking trip. They get lost in the woods after taking a wrong turn. Creep 2

It follows Melanie Stryder, who was implanted with Wanderer, a parasite soul; Melanie tries to resist this takeover, so the two of them -Melanie and Wanderer, become reluctant allies.

Gerald’s Game

Gerald’s Game is a 2017 psychological American horror film starring Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood as Jessie Burlingame and Gerald O’Hanlon and directed by Mike Flanagan. The film is based on Stephen King’s novel Gerald’s Game.

The couple plans a romantic getaway in their secluded house to restore their relationship and energise their love life. Gerald suffers a heart attack after handcuffing his wife to the bed post. Jessie starts to panic after learning her husband is dead, and she is left handcuffed in this secluded area. Throughout the movie, Jessie faces her darkest childhood traumas while struggling to survive. She finally got rid of the cuffs and broke free by the end of the film, finding a newfound sense of freedom.

The Lure

The Lure is a Polish horror movie that was released in 2017. It’s a musical giallo, drama and romance with fantasy elements. The film follows two man-eating mermaid sisters who were drawn ashore by a human. Seeking their temptations for love, flesh and sex, they become a unique nightclub act.

The story revolves around three main characters, played by Marta Mazurek, Michalina Olszańska and Kinga Preis.

Train to Busan

Train to Busan is a South Korean zombie movie that was released in 2016. It centres on a father (Gong Yoo) who must travel from Seoul to Busan with his estranged daughter; they are trapped on a speeding train along with other passengers during a zombie outbreak in South Korea. It is a horror movie, as it should be.

The movie was not only praised for its suspenseful storyline, characters or popularity among viewers from around the world but also for its extraordinary cinematography, especially having the scenes filmed in enclosed spaces. Hush is a 2016 psychological horror movie directed by Mike Flanagan. The movie follows a deaf writer, Maddie, who desperately tries to survive when a masked killer appears at her door. Maddie must rely on her wits and resourcefulness to outsmart the killer and make it out alive. Despite being disadvantaged by her lack of hearing, Maddie uses her knowledge of her environment to her advantage, leading to an intense and thrilling climax.
