1- Puppy Love (2023)

Remember Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale? She is back with yet another refreshing and enjoyable movie for us. Hale plays (Nicole) who goes out on a date with Max (Grant Gustin) after they find each other on a dating app. However, when they go out, they discover that the only thing they have in common is their love for their dogs! Therefore, they agreed on never seeing each other again, as things did not go well between them as expected.

Before they know it, Max’s and Nicole’s dogs fell in love at first sight, and puppies are on the way! Now, they are left with only one choice, which is to cooperate and make this experience easier for their dogs so as not to let them down. Will Nicole and Max find love as their dogs did? The movie will be available on 18 August 2023, as this is its official release date.

The film is directed by Nick Fabiano and Richard Alan Reid, with Michael Philip, Jason Moring, and Richard Alan Reid as the producers. Amazon Freevee released the trailer on 6 July 2023, leaving fans waiting for the big film release date. Puppyhood is the 2015 miniseries that inspired Puppy Love. It features a man who found his soulmate in a puppy. Fun fact: Nicole’s dog’s character in the film is a male called Channing Tatum, but in reality, the dog that played the character is actually a female called Fancy Pants.

2- Anyone But You (2023)

Starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney comes this rom-com movie that we expect to watch in 2023’s winter. The plot follows two college enemies reuniting years after their graduation to attend a wedding in another country. While there, they both have to act as a couple in front of everyone there! There is no available trailer for the public yet, but we expect to see one by fall!

The filming started in February 2023 and ended in April 2023. It took place in beautiful Australia with Will Gluck as the director. Gluck also co-wrote the film with Ilana Wolpert, and they are both known for making great movies, such as The Peter Rabbit, Easy A, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and Another Period

3- My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023)

Anyone who watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding and its sequel is probably excited for the third Greek wedding adventure for 2023. This independent movie is directed and written by Nia Vardalos, who is also the co-star of the film alongside John Corbett. The filming took place in Athens, Greece, in a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) follows the story of Toula (Nia Vardalos), a Greek woman in her thirties who decides to rebel and change the life that her family drew for her. On her way to so, she falls in love with Ian (John Corbett) and tries to figure out how to tell her family that she is going to marry a non-Greek man! The movie ends with Toula’s and Ian’s big Greek wedding, which is obviously amazing.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 came to us in 2016 with another adventure. This time, it follows Toula and Ian as parents of their teenage daughter, Paris. In the franchise’s third and last movie, we will see Toula, Ian, Paris, and the whole family while in Greece to visit Toula’s father’s village, as he requested before he passed away. Of course, when the whole family is in the same place, drama, laughter, and weird situations will not stop happening; only this time, we get to see Paris fall in love in Greece.

4- Barbie (2023)

Where to begin? This is not just a movie. Barbie brought together people from all around the world to be nostalgic and watch this beyond-great movie in a pinky, cheerful atmosphere. The movie is not only an attempt to get us nostalgic and get Barbie doll back into the market, but it is also symbolic and includes a lot of indirect messages and awareness. Barbie doll, or Barbara Millicent Roberts in full, is a Mattel company production that they released in 1959.

The doll created a worldwide revolution among parents, children and toy manufacturers. The idea of children playing with a doll with an adult woman’s body was somehow unfamiliar and strange. This is perfectly portrayed in the movie’s first teaser trailer, as it begins with little girls playing with their traditional baby dolls until suddenly, they see an enormous woman’s legs approaching them, which turns out to be Barbie. The girls then smash their baby dolls, and the revolution of Barbie begins

In over two weeks, the movie hit $1 billion at the box office worldwide, taking its intelligent director, Greta Gerwig, to a whole different level. This huge success made Greta Gerwig the first female director ever to hit $1 billion! Gerwig is also an actress and screenwriter, and she wrote the script for Barbie with her husband, Noah Baumbach. For the leading roles, Margot Robbie is playing Barbie and Ryan Gosling is Ken. Robbie also produced the movie and played a great part in making it reach the big screen.

5- Love at First Sight (2023)

Based on Jennifer E. Smith’s novel, The Statistical Probabilities of Love at First Sight comes this warm, light romance in 2023. The movie will be available only on Netflix on 15 September 2023. The cast includes Haley Lu Richardson as Hadley and Ben Hardy as Oliver. Hadley and Oliver crossed paths at JFK Airport in New York while waiting for their flight to London. The movie discusses the power of fate and how all the events happen to bring two people together. This is seen when Hadley misses her flight by only four minutes to end up on the same plane with Oliver.

This warm romance keeps you wondering what will happen next. Would they find each other when the plane lands in London? What is the next move that fate hides for them in order to bring them back together? The energy and vibes here are peaceful, warm, and perfect for a quiet night.

6- Love in Taipei (2023)

Ashley Liao plays Ever Wong in this rom-com based on Abigail Hing Wen’s novel Loveboat, Taipei. The plot follows Ever, a young Taiwanese-American woman, in search of her roots. To help her connect with her Taiwanese culture, her parents arranged a summer trip for her to a cultural immersion program in Taipei.

While in Taipei, Ever connects with her roots, including finding Taiwanese love! As was the case with many foreign families in The United States, Ever’s parents wanted her to become a doctor while she wanted to pursue her dream as a dancer. Ironic enough, she likes two young men in Taipei, and both of them represent the two conflicting sides of her: the doctor and the dancer. Torn between her two personalities, will Ever choose Rick (Ross Butler), the popular guy, or Xavier (Nico Hiraga), the rebellious loner? The movie is directed by Arvin Chin and was released on 10 August 2023.

7- After Everything (2023)

Based on Anna Todd’s After books, the After movies franchise came to life. The book series includes four After books, which created movie adaptations, starting After (2019), After We Collided (2020), After We Fell (2021), and After Ever Happy (2022); however, After Everything came as a pleasant huge surprise to the After fans because, as far as we know, the fourth movie was the end of the franchise.

However, since the book series only includes four movies, After Everything will not be based on a certain book as the previous four. This adds more suspense to the scene because now, we have no idea how things are going to end. The movie will be available in theatres on 13 September 2023, and enjoy yet another chapter of Hardin and Hessa’s love story.

8- Priscilla (2023)

After the massive success of the Elvis movie (2022), which mainly focused on the life of Elvis Presley, Sofia Coppola came to us in 2023 with Priscilla. The film is a 2023 adaptation of Priscilla Presley’s 1985 book Elvis and Me, following the love story of Elvis Presley and his wife Priscilla from the latter’s perspective.

This time, Priscilla is the main character in the film, and Elvis comes as a secondary character with little speech. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) and Jacob Elordi (Elvis) and is directed by Sofia Coppola. Priscilla will be available in theatres in October 2023 for you to watch and enjoy its vintage love story.

Now, we have come to the end of our list. What is the film you are excited about the most? Let us know in the comments.
